3 Things I Love About My Dad
Happy Father’s Day, friends. I hope your day is a refreshing one as you celebrate and honor the dads in your life, either past or present.
I am continually grateful to God for my own Dad and the example he sets. Today, I’m going to choose and share three things I love about him.
- He makes time. Dad is a full-time pastor and worship leader with a list of responsibilities. But that rarely seems to keep him from spending quality time with each one of us. He intentionally carves out minutes and even hours of his day to stop and read Scripture together, check out our latest projects, or just to hang out as family.
- He sets an example. Dad doesn’t just encourage us to read our Bibles daily or to reach out to others. He really does those things.
- He’s in love with Christ. My Dad is my editor who reads, critiques, and helps to revise every one of my blog articles (except for this one 😉). If I’ve learned one thing from his encouragement, it’s this: Make everything about Christ. Dad is intentional about weaving the Gospel into all things because it’s real to him. He’s in love with Jesus Christ, his Savior.
…Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth (1 Jn. 3:18).
I love you, Dad!
